Churchwarden, Ian Dixon – Address

Latest news : in church – online – on radio

At the Eucharist service in Waldron’s All Saints Church on the first Sunday in September, Friends’ Officer and Churchwarden Ian Dixon addressed a socially distanced, facially-obscured congregation of more than thirty on Faith, Hope and Love, taking the theme of Never Say Never.

Flowers bedecked the church and lych-gate (the latter with Glory Vine) from the wedding of Gill Roles to Les Mitchell the previous day. The choir were in fine voice, suitably spaced in the south aisle. Elbow-greeting was practised, causing the vicar to drop the platen.  All-in-all, the sunny morning seemed a positive step towards the ‘new normal’ in the ongoing Covid pandemic during which Friends’ social events have inevitably been put on hold. Incidentally, our Parish Churches website (to which there is a link top right on our own home page) gives details of, and links to, our vicar’s Pause for Thought chats on Radio 2 with Vanessa Feltz.
