Following the successful conclusion of the restoration work carried out in 2018, we continue to monitor the performance of our vintage organ. As was expected with an instrument of this age, other issues develop over time and we have liaised with the contractors to remedy these faults as and when identified. It is apparent that the variations in temperature within the church do have an effect from time to time, so our programme is likely to be of an ongoing variety!
We were delighted with the result of our fund raising exercise which has actually provided us with a modest reserve for this additional work. So for now, at least, we can feel a little more relaxed about the maintenance bills.
A sincere thank you to all who contributed. Please watch this space for information on a “thank you” recital that the church is planning for October 2019 when we hope to show what our organ can do!
The Organ Fund will remain open for further donations until all necessary final work has been completed.
