St Bart’s Project Update

The St Bart’s project started in November and progress has been quite steady although the combined effects of the Covid situation and a spell of bad weather has affected the schedule somewhat. The steel frame has been erected and the roof should be going on over
the next few weeks as we now start to see something of how the finished building will look. We shall have toilets, kitchen and a meeting room, enabling us to serve the congregation better and also offer facilities to the local community and our school. Completion should be mid-summer. Financing the project remains a challenge as the Covid 19 situation has meant that we have not been able to organise our usual fundraising activities during 2020, and this remains difficult in 2021.
Having said that, the church has launched a “Buy a Brick” campaign so that anyone can make a contribution, large or small and feel part of the project. Please see here→  for details of how you can be involved as we seek to achieve our target of £5,000 from this source; at £5 per brick it’s only 1000 bricks! This ensures that we are able to fully finish the project with the facilities we seek. I’m pleased to report that we are over half way.
